Emergency Pet Shipping: What to Do When You Have 10 Days or Less

Emergency · 5 min read · Updated July 10, 2026

Orders dropped. A family emergency. A landlord change. Whatever the trigger, when you have 10 days or less to move a pet, every hour matters. Here's the sequence that works.

Hour 1: call, don't fill out a form

Rush bookings live and die on live-animal cargo availability. Call (316) 749-8663 and we'll check every carrier out of your origin airport before you finish your coffee.

Hour 2: crate sourcing

Airline-compliant crates aren't sitting on a shelf at PetSmart in every size. We stock Petmate 100 through 700 and Pet Express Sky Kennels, plus PP90 extenders and custom XXL builds for giant breeds.

Same day: expedited vet + APHIS

Rush health certificate appointments and same-week APHIS endorsement (in-person courier at select state offices) are how we routinely close 5-day windows.

Why rush pricing is quoted verbally

Cargo rates change hour to hour on rush bookings. Anyone quoting a fixed rush price online is either overcharging by default or about to hit you with change fees. We quote you verbally after we confirm the exact flight and crate is available.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you actually move a pet?

Our record is 36 hours from first call to wheels-up. 72 hours is normal for domestic emergencies with paperwork already in hand.

Do you charge more for rush service?

Yes — expedited crate sourcing, vet appointments, and APHIS handling all cost more. We quote verbally so you see the exact adder before you commit.
